Our Thread Size Converter is a user-friendly tool that makes thread and yarn count conversion easy. You can convert any metric ticket (Tkt), cotton count (Ne), denier (D), decitex (dtex) and tex into all of the others.

- Tex: Weight of grams per 1000 metres of yarn.

- Decitex (dtex): Weight of grams per 10000 metres of yarn.

- Cotton Count (Ne): Number of hanks per pound (a hank = 840 yards).

In Hong Kong, a common Ne-based ticket yarn size generally includes both the yarn size and number of ply. Example: 60/3 yarn size representing 60's cotton count (Ne) for single yarn and 3 plies, called 603.

- Metric Ticket (Tkt): Designated from the total nominal input decitex value regardless of thread construction converted to the 3-ply relevant equivalent. The most common system used in Europe. It shall be round for man-made fibre threads as follows:

Tkt>160          Round down to the nearest multiple of 20

160>Tkt>80    Round down to the nearest multiple of 10

75>Tkt>30      Round down to the nearest multiple of 5

28>Tkt>18      Round down to the nearest even number

17>Tkt            Round down to the nearest whole number

- Denier(D): Weight of grams of 9000 metres of yarn. Typically used for continuous filaments.
