OEKO-TEX 100 Standard

The OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is an independent testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of production. It was established since 1992 by Germany Hohenstein Institute and Austria Vienna Textile Institute.

Harmful substances are tested to assure the safety of textiles. Testing for harmful substances includes illegal substances, legally regulated substances, known harmful (but not legally regulated) chemicals, as well as parameters for health care. In their entirety the requirements clearly exceed existing national legislation.

Oeko-Tex Standard 100 is the most popular certificate in textiles field.  OEKO-TEX® testing for harmful substances always focus on the actual use of the textile. The more intensive the skin contact of a product, the stricter the human ecological requirements to be met.

Accordingly there are four product classes including Product class I: Textile items for babies and toddlers up to 3 years (clothing, toys, bed linen, terry cloth items etc.), Product class II: Textiles used close to the skin (underwear, bed linen, T-shirts etc.), Product class III: Textiles used away from the skin (jackets, coats etc.), Product class IV: Furnishing materials (curtains, table cloths, upholstery materials etc.). Requirements for Class I are the most critical.

All products made by Gunzetal can fully meet all requirements of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 for Class I.

REACH regulation

The term REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals and this constitutes the European Chemical legislation under No.1907/2006 which came into effect at 1st July 2007.

This REACH system is based on the principle of self-responsibility allocated to the industry and should guarantee, that only substances produced and later purchased and sold, will not endanger the health of humans, who possibly will come into contact with these substances or harm the environment. According to a “No data, No market” principle, only the products with needed data which confirmed to REACH legislation can be sold in the market.

Gunzetal confirm that we deliver all our products according the REACH legislation and all our products delivered to the customers are conformed to Europe REACH standards
